Student Affairs is an educational partner throughout every stage of the Berkeley journey. We support students as they transition to campus, navigate challenges, discover opportunities, celebrate achievements, and prepare for lives and careers of purpose. Whether helping students build community, supporting their health and well-being, fostering leadership and identity development, encouraging civic and public engagement, providing housing, dining, and financial wellness resources, or helping students explore meaningful career pathways, our work is centered on helping students discover who they are, who they aspire to become, and how they can make a positive difference in the world.

My hope is that every Berkeley student graduates with more than a world-class education. I hope they leave with lifelong friendships, a deeper understanding of themselves and others, the courage to lead with integrity, the resilience to navigate life’s challenges, and a commitment to improving the communities they will serve. If we have done our work well, our students will leave Berkeley not only prepared for successful careers, but equipped to lead meaningful lives of purpose that make a positive impact on the world.
