ACPA-College Student Educators International (ACPA) and Diverse: Issues in Higher Education has recently selected UC Berkeley as one of the 2024 Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs, which aligns with the Division’s Strategic Plan priorities of providing an inclusive culture that fosters trust, transparent decision making, recognizes value, and builds innovative processes and systems.
Berkeley was selected as one of 26 institutions and the only UC on the list after the completion of a fall 2023 survey that assessed the division’s focus on workplace diversity, staffing practices, and work environment. The survey was authored by Terrell Strayhorn, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Do Good Work Educational Consulting and former professor, and consisted of approximately 60 items. Berkeley was recognized for its family friendliness, salary/benefits, and professional development opportunities, among other categories.
Berkeley will be highlighted in a future edition of Diverse and at the ACPA24 Convention in Chicago on March 19. Vice Chancellor Steve Sutton will be on hand to accept this award. The complete list of recipients is available on Diverse’s website.
